Residing in Mexico since 1976, Dr Furlan held a degree and a doctorate in Education from the University of Córdoba (Argentina) and the University René Descartes, Paris V (France). He served as Director of the Department of Education at ENEP Iztacala and was a professor in both undergraduate and graduate Pedagogy programs at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at UNAM. He was also an active member of the research group at FESI.

His significant contributions to the study of school violence, along with his extensive academic work, have made him a respected figure in the field. Author of numerous publications, among other topics, on school violence.
